Skopas the Parian

The Prodromos Cultural Association Skopas the Parian was founded in 1984 with the aim to develop spiritual life and bolster cultural activity. Its members include residents and friends of the village.

The Association is active in Prodromos and is based in the old village tank. A series of events have been implemented under the watchful eye of the Association, including the Candlelight March of 25 March, Chick Pea Soup and the Representations on Good Friday, the custom of Ai Yiannis Klidonas and the festival of Agios Panteleimonas.

The first traditional dance groups were established in 2007, and are still active.

The Association offers the following dance lessons in the hall of the Prodromos tank:

• Preschool children (4-5 years of age)
• Young Children (6-9 years of age)
• Older Children (10-12 years of age)
• Adult Beginners and
• Adult Advanced.

Dances are taught by Mrs. Eleni Trioda.

The dance troupe of the Cultural Association Skopas the Parian participates with great success in events organized on Paros.
