The celebration and national holiday of Epiphany is the continuation of the Christmas holidays. Come to Paros with your friends. Observe the devout celebrations at the churches and decide where you want to spend the Agiasmo ton Ydaton (the blessing of the waters).
Stages are set up at the ports of the island and the priest of each parish throws the Cross in the sea. Young swimmers dive into the water in a noble effort to get the Cross and have the blessing (Theia Fotisi) for the whole year.
The Holy days of Christmas and Epiphany are celebrated with the splendor befitting the island of Paros. The island is decorated and bright, while all traditions and customs are faithfully, almost reverently, kept alive.
