Progressive Cultural Center of Lefkes, Paros - Cultural Association MEEAS YRIA Lefkes, Paros

The Progressive Cultural Center of Lefkes, Paros was founded in 1925 and has been very active both in Lefkes and Paros as a whole. In collaboration with the Cultural Association MEEAS YRIA Lefkes, Paros, the Center organizes a number of events, most of which take place in summer, to the delight of visitors and residents of the island alike.

Events organized each year include: important lectures and seminars, book presentations, concerts and theatrical performances. In 2013, the 1st Festival of Local Products of Paros was organized for the first time, and paid homage to bread. The festival was called: THE DAILY BREAD OF PAROS and was held in the main square of Parikia.

The Center and Cultural Association also collaborated on the Karavolas Festival, which takes place in Lefkes. Visitors enjoy music and dance, wine and souma (local spirit) and sample the excellent karavolas (large snails), skordalia (garlic sauce) and baked chick peas.
