"Apothiki" Art Center
The Art Center took its name from the previous use of the building that houses it (apothiki means storage area in Greek), as it was once used to store wine and food in the Kastro (castle). This international multi-functional space was the inspiration of Dirk Drijbooms from Belgium, a "citizen of the world" who nonetheless chose Paros for the implementation of his idea.
Apothiki Art Center is based on a multi-cultural and multinational cooperation model, where it collaborates with both international and Greek cultural institutions, art galleries and artists and aspires to introduce as many artistic events, partnerships and organizations to the island as possible.
The Art Center organizes exhibitions, seminars, concerts and conferences. Since 2004, when it first opened in the Kastro of Parikia, it has introduced and hosted over 400 artists from 27 different countries.
